About The Position

International Paper is seeking a Maintenance Multicraft Technician III for its Lynchburg Box facility. The role supports a fast-paced production environment by performing preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs, and small projects while minimizing equipment downtime. The technician works with maintenance mechanics and electricians and is expected to prioritize safety, customer satisfaction, quality, and productivity. Duties also include maintaining work areas and records, using computer systems for maintenance processes, stores, and work orders, and performing other tasks assigned by supervision. Candidates must be willing to work alternative shifts, weekends, holidays, call-ins, and overtime as required. The position requires mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting expertise, and strong electrical knowledge. Applicants must have a high school degree and at least two years of successful mechanical and electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair experience in a manufacturing facility. Corrugated-industry experience is preferred. Requirements

Nice To Haves

Manufacturing experience in the corrugated industry.
Knowledge of lubrication, hydraulics, welding, pneumatics, electrical, and electronics technologies.

Responsibilities

Follow all safety rules and practices.
Perform preventive maintenance, including lubrication, measuring wear and positions, repositioning components, and observing equipment operations, vibrations, and noise levels.
Perform emergency and breakdown maintenance to support plant operations.
Accurately use measurement and test equipment.
Perform electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam-system, and other repairs and installations as needed.
Maintain clean and organized work areas.
Prepare and maintain accurate and complete maintenance records and other paperwork.
Troubleshoot and solve problems.
Work effectively with other maintenance mechanics and electricians, demonstrating teamwork and cooperation.
Cross-train in other technical areas to enhance capabilities.
Work alternative shifts, weekends, holidays, call-ins, and overtime as required.
Use computer systems for maintenance processes, stores, and work orders.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
