About The Position

As a Maintenance Mechanic (Mechanical Tech 3), you will play a critical role in keeping our operation running safely and efficiently. In this hands-on position, you will install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment to reduce downtime and support reliable performance. You will also complete preventive & predictive maintenance, respond to equipment issues, and work across mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Opportunities are currently available at the Petersburg facility.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment, usage of predictive and reliability equipment.
  • Basic understanding of computer operations as well as ability to learn and use computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) systems.
  • Critical thinking and spatial awareness to rapidly diagnose and fix complex mechanical issues.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform manual tasks in varying temperatures and industrial environments.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 2 to 5 years of proven experience as an industrial maintenance mechanic, ideally in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Wear required employer-provided personal protective equipment (PPE) for the department.
  • Lift, push & pull 10 to 50 lbs.
  • Regularly stand, walk, and move throughout the department during the shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational training, an associate's degree, or certifications in industrial maintenance, millwrighting, or a related field are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections, lubricate moving parts, and replace worn components to help prevent unexpected equipment failures.
  • Use diagnostic tools, technical schematics, and equipment observation to quickly identify root causes and resolve mechanical issues.
  • Safely disassemble, repair, and reassemble complex production equipment to restore performance and minimize downtime.
  • Adjust and calibrate machines for optimal performance. Perform test runs to verify repairs before returning equipment to production.
  • Accurately record maintenance activities, monitor parts inventory, and help coordinate needed supplies and replacement parts.
  • Follow OSHA requirements, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and safe work practices while maintaining a clean and organized environment.
