The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining large industrial textile processing equipment, as well as facility maintenance. Tasks include start-up and shut-down procedures, electrical troubleshooting, maintaining and operating boilers, welding and cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, and other systems. This role assists the Maintenance Manager with all plant maintenance operations, ensuring that plant premises and equipment are kept in safe and clean condition. The mechanic will also assist in building a maintenance program that optimizes the plant’s uptime, considers costs, and satisfies all industry regulations and OSHA guidelines. The position requires the ability to complete PMs, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild equipment, and document work done without direct supervision. The mechanic will monitor equipment for proper operation and work closely with management to repair or replace equipment as needed. Monitoring boilers and associated equipment, assisting outside contractors, and applying general plumbing and HVAC skills are also key responsibilities. Compliance with company policies, maintaining a clean work area, and operating a forklift are expected. Other duties may be assigned as required.
