The Maintenance Mechanic will ensure all equipment functions optimally to prevent downtime during production. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting machinery, implementing corrective actions, ordering parts, and replacing machine components. The position requires proficiency in welding (ARC, MIG), torch cutting, metal fabrication, and familiarity with pipe fittings. The mechanic will also gain knowledge of electrical functions, PLCs, and drives, including programming and troubleshooting. The ability to work with or without schematics, train new mechanics, and possess a working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics are essential. This role may require working day or afternoon shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime with short notice, and involves working with minimal supervision. Occasional operation of machines is also part of the duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years Work Experience in a similar environment
  • Knowledge in metal fabrication
  • Familiar with pipe fittings
  • Knowledge of electrical functions
  • Experience with PLC's and drives. Be able to program, change outputs/inputs, modify programs and use lap top to troubleshoot equipment
  • Able to work with or without schematics
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Able to work with little supervision

  • Able to learn to operate all machines

Responsibilities

  • Perform all work in a safe manner following company policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance in accordance with Preventative Maintenance Procedures.
  • Troubleshoot machinery, determine and implement corrective actions.
  • Order parts as needed in accordance with company policy.
  • Remove, modify and replacement of machine components as needed.
  • Perform welding (includes ARC, MIG).
  • Torch cutting.
  • Metal fabrication.
  • Familiarity with pipe fittings.
  • Learn to operate all machines.
  • Apply knowledge of electrical functions to assignments.
  • Experience with PLCs and drives. Be able to program, change outputs/inputs, modify programs and use laptop to troubleshoot equipment.
  • Work with or without schematics.
  • Work with and train new maintenance mechanics.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Operation of machines (infrequent).
