About The Position

Working under the maintenance manager, the 1st shift Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing industrial machinery to ensure continuous operation and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. In this role, the mechanic will respond to trouble calls, repair breakdowns, and promote preventative maintenance. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, communication, analytical, troubleshooting, interpersonal, and team building skills to support site objectives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of progressively responsible experience in manufacturing maintenance.
  • Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency calls as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or vocational training preferred
  • Proficient in machining, welding preferred
  • Proficient with CMMS preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections of industrial machinery.
  • Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement proactive solutions to prevent equipment downtime.
  • Document all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks, accurately and timely.
  • Receiving work from manager and carrying out assigned duties timely and accurately.
  • Responds to breakdown trouble calls and brings machines back to accurate running state. This includes troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing problems related to electrical and mechanical equipment or process failures.
  • Participate and collaborate with operations personnel to ensure efficient production and minimize downtime.
  • Dismantle, repair and reassemble gear boxes, conveyors, pumps, cylinders, valves, drives, etc.
  • Read and understand electrical schematics/ mechanical blueprints.
  • Maintain company documentation as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of this role.
