The Overnight Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for repairing and maintaining residential and commercial buildings and their components and equipment. This role involves performing a variety of maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance tasks within the hotel and on the property, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and appliance repair. The mechanic will also conduct corrective service and repair/restoration works, perform daily technical inspection rounds, and carry out inspections of public areas. This position requires the safe use of various hand tools, power tools, and general equipment, and maintaining records of mechanical system status. The mechanic will respond to emergency calls, assist in HVAC unit repair projects and remodeling/construction, and perform pool/spa maintenance. Keeping mechanical areas neat and orderly, managing inventory, and diagnosing mechanical problems are also key responsibilities. The role involves collaborating with Operations Managers, communicating task results, and demonstrating technical knowledge in various building systems and equipment. Adherence to OSHA guidelines, safe operation of vehicles, and monitoring work-related conditions for compliance are essential. The position requires excellent time management, the ability to learn new methods, and effective communication skills. Physical demands include reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, twisting, climbing, walking, standing, lifting, carrying, and working at heights. The role also involves working under stress, outdoors, and maintaining a flexible schedule, including overnights, weekends, and holidays, with the possibility of working additional hours and responding to emergencies.
