About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at our Chicago Bakery plant. This full-time, on-site position requires flexibility to work 2nd or 3rd shift schedules. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing maintenance, with hands-on experience in various mechanical and electrical systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production equipment, adhering to strict safety and quality standards, and contributing to our operational excellence initiatives.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• At least 2–4 years of hands-on manufacturing experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, OR the successful completion of an approved Apprenticeship/Training Program.
• Ability to work well in a team-based environment with limited supervision.
• Working proficiency across pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical drives, basic machining, hand tools, welding, and foundational electrical systems.
• Ability to problem solve, provide root-cause analysis, and help implement practical solutions.
• Must be available to work 2nd or 3rd shift schedules.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
• Implement solutions to production problems and conduct root-cause analysis.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols including LOTO, Hot Work permits, and Confined Space entry.
• Adhere to Quality & Food Safety standards, including GMPs, HACCP, and QCMS.
• Participate in Integrated Lean Six Sigma (IL6S) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities.
• Work effectively in a team-based environment with minimal supervision.
