About The Position

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as an automotive painter or in a similar role within a body shop environment.
  • Knowledge of automotive paint systems, including primers, base coats, and clear coats.
  • Ability to operate spray painting equipment and related tools safely and effectively.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and environmental regulations related to automotive painting.
  • Proficiency in operating spray guns and mixing paint accurately is essential for daily tasks, allowing the painter to achieve consistent color matching and coverage.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols ensures that the painter maintains a safe working environment while handling potentially hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicle surfaces by sanding, masking, and cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
  • Mix and match paint colors accurately using computerized color matching systems and manual techniques.
  • Apply primers, base coats, clear coats, and other finishes using spray guns and other painting equipment.
  • Inspect painted surfaces for quality, making necessary touch-ups or corrections to meet shop standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety guidelines and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with body repair technicians to understand repair requirements and timelines.
  • Manage paint inventory and ensure proper storage of materials to prevent contamination or waste.
