About The Position

Flex-O-Glass is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support plant operations at its Dixon, Illinois facility. The role works as part of a team of mechanical staff to maintain machine efficiency and production equipment. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with nights, weekends, and overtime required if needed.

The Maintenance Mechanic maintains production equipment through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs; completes maintenance logs and other required administrative documents; and addresses industrial electrical, motor, drive, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical issues. The candidate must be able to read and understand schematics and communicate outstanding issues or concerns effectively.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least five years of maintenance and/or electrical experience in an industrial environment.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to work nights and weekends and overtime if needed.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to read and comprehend schematics.
• Must pass pre-employment screening, background check, physical, and drug screening, including marijuana screening, to be eligible for employment.

Nice To Haves

• Technical degree.
• Maintenance experience in the plastics industry.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production equipment to optimize proper operation through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Complete required administrative documents accurately to maintain maintenance logs.
• Troubleshoot industrial electrical systems, A/C and D/C motors, and drives.
• Identify and correct hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical failures.
• Communicate outstanding issues or concerns verbally and in writing.
