About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic performs preventative, maintenance, and repairs of large manufacturing equipment (hydraulic, pneumatic, conveyor, etc.). This role is responsible for identifying the root cause of unexpected breakdowns, repairing machines quickly and efficiently to decrease downtime, and performing preventive maintenance inspections and services. The position also involves documenting work performed, maintaining shop areas, and collaborating with department heads on new product additions and modifications. The role emphasizes a zero-accident culture through the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety policies. This is an individual contributor role with required competencies in Functional/Technical Skills, Action Oriented, Problem Solving, Learning on the Fly, and Interpersonal Savvy.

Requirements

Mechanically inclined with relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
Ability to read and understand schematics, blueprints, etc. to diagnose problems with manufacturing equipment
Good computer literacy with ability to enter work records in appropriate program
Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization in a timely and professional manner
Ability to handle and resolve most issues in an efficient and effective manner
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects, planning skills, and a high attention to detail
Must possess a strong customer-centric attitude, high energy level and a strong sense of urgency
Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
Wear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatory

Nice To Haves

Vocational certificate in appropriate field (i.e. welding, maintenance, electrical, etc.) preferred
multi-lingual strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines, including cleaning, oiling, lubricating, changing belts machinery as necessary to ensure machines are in optimal working condition
Identify root cause of unexpected breakdowns of machines; repair quickly and efficiently to decrease downtime for machine
Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts, ordering and installing replacement parts for machines as needed
Prepare reports documenting work performed.
Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies as needed
Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
Collaborate with department heads regarding new products being added and modifications that will be required
Make necessary modifications and implements tests runs; confers with product manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required
Identify opportunities for improvement, present to appropriate leader, and implement, lead or participate in solution implementation
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in all areas where mandatory helping to promote a zero-accident culture
Perform additional relevant duties as assigned
