About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all conveyor, sortation, and related material handling equipment, as well as heating, HVAC, plumbing, and other specialized areas to ensure proper, safe, and efficient mechanical/electrical operations within the Distribution Center. This role also assists in the installation of new equipment or modification of existing equipment, and as necessary, fabrication and installation of specialized equipment. Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Vocational training in a related technical field
One to two years of experience in industrial maintenance field
Basic understanding of electrical/electronics, welding/fabrication, HVAC/refrigeration, plumbing, mechanical and electrical drive systems
Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 75 lbs.
Demonstrate preventative maintenance experience in material handling systems.
Willingness to work various shifts to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

Work in compliance with all TJX best practices, safety rules and regulations in accordance with federal, state, and local municipalities.
Perform preventative maintenance and basic repair and troubleshooting of all building and MHE equipment, plumbing, electrical, heating, refrigeration, sprinklers, etc.
Basic operation and understanding of control systems, multiple computer programs, and all building equipment.
Completes all required paperwork and maintains a clean work environment.
Monitor all control systems to ensure maximum uptime.
May recommend and implement improvements to equipment, operations, and procedures.
May train and guide other maintenance associates in preventative maintenance of equipment and safety procedures.
Assist with projects and work with vendors as assigned.
Responsible for effective and timely communication.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
