About The Position

This position is responsible for performing maintenance on mechanical devices, ensuring safety regulations are followed, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the production process. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment, as well as managing inventory and documenting work. A basic understanding of electrical skills and food safety requirements is also necessary.

Requirements

  • Must follow all safety regulations required by Company and OSHA.
  • Ability to observe mechanical devices in operation and listen for problems.
  • Ability to use precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Ability to complete daily tasks without assistance.
  • Ability to initiate trouble shooting skills to improve the process and/or make repairs.
  • Ability to remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
  • Ability to examine form and texture of parts.
  • Ability to determine dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Ability to inform production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitor compliance.
  • Ability to maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and establishing personal networks.
  • Ability to maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock and anticipating needed items.
  • Ability to conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Ability to effectively apply basic electrical skills (learning the use of a multimeter).
  • Ability to maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Working understanding of food safety requirements as outlined in BRC, SQF and USDA.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to communicate with others orally.

  • Control downtime by informing production workers of preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
  • Maintain technical knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking.
  • Manage equipment, parts, and supplies inventories.
  • Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
  • Apply basic electrical skills, including learning to use a multimeter.
