About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment to ensure efficient operation. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues, as well as performing general building maintenance. The position requires a high level of autonomy and adherence to quality, safety, and procedural standards. The mechanic will also be responsible for logging work in the CMMS system and participating in an on-call rotation.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years minimum experience as a maintenance mechanic in a metal manufacturing environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot machinery.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
• Knowledge of ISO9001 standards for metals manufacturing.
• Experience with and ability to use all types of welding, cutting, machine, and hand tools.
• Must be willing to work overtime, including weekends and off-shifts as required.

Nice To Haves

• Technical degree in maintenance-related field.
• PLC experience.
• Experience in high speed packaging, welding, and mechanical power transmission.

Responsibilities

• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearing, gears, and other parts of machinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair machinery such as slitters, collectors, high speed welders, conveyors, and palletizers.
• Install and maintain pipe systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and other related equipment.
• Perform building maintenance, including minor plumbing, welding, and general upkeep.
• Repair and assess electrical issues as they arise.
• Familiarize yourself with the CMMS system and log labor/parts according to established expectations.
• Participate in on-call program and may be required to work additional hours on off shift due to on-call program.
• Understand and comply with quality, PPE requirements, safety policies, and procedures.
