About The Position

RPM Industrial Coatings Group in Hudson, NC is hiring a second-shift Maintenance Mechanic. The role performs general repairs, installations, and maintenance on facility equipment, buildings, and utility systems. Work includes general carpentry and floor repairs, routine equipment checks and inspections, lubrication, and repairs or adjustments to problem areas. The mechanic maintains records of maintenance and repairs, refers complex situations to a supervisor, and operates machines and tools, including performing welding and other maintenance tasks as required. The position works in a paint manufacturing environment with usually moderate noise. It involves working across functions and managing frequent interruptions while completing assigned projects without continuous supervision. The role offers a $2 shift differential and a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 4 years of experience in a maintenance field.
Basic math skills.
Basic reading and comprehension skills.
Knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, painting, machine servicing, electrical skills, and pneumatics.
Ability to work in a cross-functional environment with frequent interruptions.
Ability to determine whether processes meet specified guidelines, relying on prior field experience.
Ability to rely on experience and judgment to accomplish goals.
Ability to work without continuous supervision while completing assigned projects.

Responsibilities

Maintain, adjust, and repair machinery and equipment throughout the facility.
Perform general carpentry work and repairs to the building and grounds, including floor repairs.
Inspect equipment and machines and make necessary repairs as directed.
Maintain logs of maintenance performed on machinery and equipment.
Respond to maintenance requests as assigned by the supervisor.
Operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment and use tools properly.
Perform routine equipment checks, lubrication, and other general maintenance functions.
Refer complex situations to the supervisor.
