About The Position
The Maintenance Mechanic helps protect and enhance the center’s value by keeping facilities operating reliably. The role involves hands-on structural and building repairs, preventative maintenance, and support for daily operations, customer satisfaction, and profitability. The mechanic also assists customers on-site, communicates equipment condition to a supervisor, and coordinates with external contractors during specialized repairs.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in general building maintenance or an equivalent trade background.
- Solid basic plumbing skills.
- Comfort performing routine HVAC preventative maintenance.
- Proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic.
Nice To Haves
- BOCES training or similar training in general HVAC or maintenance is highly preferred.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform interior and exterior repairs, including drywall installation, painting, flooring, masonry patching, roofing, parking decks, and structural touch-ups.
- Maintain facility HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, including sprinklers and extinguishers, to prevent downtime.
- Provide friendly assistance to customers on-site.
- Communicate equipment health and condition to the supervisor.
- Assist and coordinate with external contractors during specialized repairs.
