About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance tasks on process and facility equipment. This role requires basic mechanical and electrical skills, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to use special equipment tools. The individual must maintain high standards of personal integrity, conduct, and communication. This position involves completing daily computer tasks for PM and work orders, ensuring accuracy and clarity in documentation. Responsibilities include maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment, troubleshooting malfunctions by following diagrams and manuals, and adhering to all safety, manufacturing, and food safety policies. The role also involves requisitioning repair parts and performing assigned tasks safely and efficiently, with a motivation to increase knowledge and gain experience in the maintenance field. Other duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Basic mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Knowledgeable with the proper use of hand and power tools as well as all special equipment tools.
  • Ability to complete daily computer tasks required to keep PM and work orders up to date.
  • Ability to follow diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
  • Punctual and adhere to all safety policies, general manufacturing policies, and food safety guidelines.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks in a safe and timely fashion.
  • Motivated to increase knowledge and to gain experience in all aspects of the Maintenance field.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Assist or perform preventative and corrective tasks on process and facility equipment.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal integrity and conduct.
  • Complete daily computer tasks for PM and work orders, ensuring accuracy and clarity of documentation.
  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical control systems, conveyor systems, and production machines.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions by following diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, general manufacturing policies, and food safety guidelines.
  • Requisition repair parts for equipment and facility as required.
  • Complete assigned tasks in a safe and timely fashion.
  • Increase knowledge and gain experience in all aspects of the Maintenance field.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
