About The Position

This role is accountable to troubleshoot, repair, install, optimize and conduct preventative maintenance for site facilities, utilities and production equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in any GOJO facility, following specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings, using hand tools, power tools, hoist, crane, and measuring and testing instruments. They visually inspect and test machinery and equipment, using electrical and electronic test equipment, listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction, and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines. The role also involves dismantling defective machines and equipment and installing new or repaired parts, cleaning and lubricating shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery, and installing and repairing electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment. Additionally, the role requires laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairing and replacing gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment. They also repair and maintain physical structures and grounds, and may install machinery and equipment according to blueprints and other specifications. The role may involve installing, programming, or repairing automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers, setting up and operating machine tools, and operating cutting torch or welding equipment. Fabricating and repairing counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures is also part of the responsibilities. Familiarity with emergency procedures and equipment necessary to safely and effectively respond to an emergency involving hazardous waste is required, ensuring hazardous wastes, universal wastes, and used oil are placed in the appropriate container that is properly labeled, is in good condition, and is closed.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED
  • 5+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in any GOJO facility, following specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings, using hand tools, power tools, hoist, crane, and measuring and testing instruments
  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment, using electrical and electronic test equipment
  • Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts, following specifications and blueprints, using precision measuring instruments and hand tools
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery, using rags, brushes, and grease gun
  • Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment
  • Repairs and maintains physical structures and grounds
  • May install machinery and equipment according to blueprints and other specifications
  • May install, program, or repair automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers
  • May set up and operate machine tools, such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools
  • May operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
  • May fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures
  • Familiar with emergency procedures and equipment necessary to safely and effectively respond to an emergency involving hazardous waste
  • Assures hazardous wastes, universal wastes and used oil are placed in the appropriate container that is properly labeled, is in good condition and is closed.
