About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for conducting reactive and preventative maintenance on industrial equipment. The mechanic will also complete facility repairs as needed. This role requires proficiency in computer systems, control systems, and industrial machinery operation and repair.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of experience with industrial machinery / conveyor system maintenance or like systems in an industrial environment.
  • 1 year of forklift experience.
  • Welding experience required (SMAW, GMAW) at minimum.
  • Basic understanding of welding processes and basic understanding of metallurgy and structural welding.
  • Experience with conveyor systems, gears and chain systems and basic understanding of maintenance adjustments and repairs.
  • Basic understanding of electronics, including 24v systems, 110VAC through 480VAC.
  • Operate a forklift and any other industrial equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and structural blueprints.
  • Must be familiar with computer system and their operation.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional training courses in related fields demonstrating extensive level of knowledge and skill may be necessary.
  • 1 year of fabrication experience preferred.
  • Experience with machinery control systems, including PLCs, contactors, relays, variable frequency drives, and related electrical components preferred.
  • Experience in wiring and setup of industrial electrical equipment is preferred.
  • Preferred tech accreditation for controls systems.
  • Welding certifications preferred.
  • Structural welding certification D1.1 position 1G required.
  • Electrical accreditation for industrial electrical preferred, 110VAC through 480VAC.
  • Forklift Certification preferred upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs per manufacturer guidelines using the CMMS system and following lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Repair machinery and facility systems using foundational welding knowledge to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Prepare, fit, and weld components on industrial equipment, selecting appropriate processes and applying basic metallurgy considerations.
  • Assist with installation, wiring, and setup of industrial electrical equipment, including routing conductors, making terminations, and verifying safe functionality.
  • Inspect, adjust, and repair conveyor systems, including gears, sprockets, and chain/belt components, to maintain performance and uptime.
  • Perform routine mechanical adjustments and repairs to minimize downtime and prevent equipment failures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and ensure equipment is kept in safe operating condition.
  • Assist with facilities maintenance tasks, including plumbing, racking, lighting, and general building repairs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
