Maintenance Mechanic / Hotel

About The Position

We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Mechanic to help keep the hotel property in top condition. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, this role handles a range of repairs and equipment troubleshooting, from leaky faucets and air-conditioning units to guest room doors. The position combines practical maintenance skills with a team-oriented, guest-focused approach.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in general building maintenance or a related trade.
Practical working knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, and general repair tools.
Flexible availability for all shifts, including weekend coverage.
Friendly attitude, good time management, and high reliability.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and remain active throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

Respond to reported issues in guest rooms quickly and professionally.
Perform general repairs, including drywall repair, painting, basic carpentry, and furniture touch-ups.
Check the status of major building equipment daily, confirm it is functioning properly, and identify potential issues.
Perform routine repairs on HVAC units, unclog drains, replace faucets, and handle basic toilet and sink maintenance.
Perform light electrical work, such as replacing light bulbs, ballasts, outlets, and wall switches.
Conduct guest room walk-throughs as directed by the Maintenance Manager as part of the hotel's preventive maintenance program.
Inspect rooms and resolve minor issues before they affect guests or equipment.
Maintain front-of-house and back-of-house areas so they are clean, safe, and functional.
Learn the hotel's fire life safety equipment and emergency procedures, and respond according to established procedures to help ensure guest and staff safety.
Complete other projects or responsibilities as directed by the Maintenance Manager or Hotel Manager.
