About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Plant Maintenance Engineer to keep our bread manufacturing operations running at peak efficiency. This is a critical hands-on role in a production facility where equipment uptime directly impacts product quality and output. As a Maintenance Engineer you will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of automated and mechanical systems and complete preventative maintenance. You will prioritize the safety of yourself, your coworkers, and the company. Plant equipment you will be working on will include but limited to the ff.: Category Equipment (Maintenance and repair) Baking and Production Mixers, Dividers, Proof Box, Ovens Automation and Controls PLC, VFDs and Control Panels Utilities and Services Systems Refrigeration / cooling, Boiler, Wastewater Packaging Slicers, Baggers, Date coder, Check Weighers, Metal Detectors, Conveyors

Requirements

  • Candidates must have hands-on working knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives).
  • Diploma or certification or degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or a combination or other equivalent qualification to be able to work independently
  • Minimum 3 years’ maintenance experience in food manufacturing or a similar automated production environment to be able to work independently
  • Must be available to work all shifts, including nights and weekends per business needs.
  • Ability to read and follow schematics, electrical diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Ability to follow diagrams, manuals, and specifications for repairs.
  • Ability to inspect and remove defective parts using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., work on heights and work in noisy environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of welding preferred.
  • LME (Limited Maintenance Electrical) License or willing to obtain one preferred
  • EPA Refrigeration certification or willing to obtain one preferred
  • Boiler operator license or willing to obtain one preferred
  • Forklift or powered equipment certification or willing to obtain one preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of automated and mechanical systems.
  • Complete preventative maintenance.
  • Prioritize the safety of yourself, your coworkers, and the company.
  • Read, interpret, and troubleshoot PLC logic. Diagnose faults, modify parameters, and work with OEM technical support when needed.
  • Configure, tune, and diagnose VFDs across mixer, conveyor, and oven systems. Understand parameter settings and drive replacement.
  • Understand electrical schematics, work safely on control panels, sensors, and circuits in compliance with electrical safety codes.
  • Understand bearings, drive systems, and mechanical alignments.
  • Understand refrigerants and compressor systems to service and maintain refrigeration units.
  • Operate and maintain boilers and steam traps.
  • Support in maintaining plant wastewater treatment systems to meet environmental regulations.
  • Maintain and calibrate check weighers and metal detectors to ensure food safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Apply food-grade lubricants, follow good manufacturing practices and ensure all maintenance work protects product integrity.
  • Perform scheduled PMs, communicate preventive maintenance needs and ensure compliance. Identify malfunctions. Follow diagrams, manuals, and specifications for repairs.
  • Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools.
  • Complete daily maintenance paperwork and prepare equipment setups for daily production.
  • Help to maintain inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies.
