About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all conveyor, sortation, and related material handling equipment. This role also involves work on Heating, HVAC, and plumbing systems to ensure proper, safe, and efficient mechanical/electrical operation within the Distribution Center. The position may also involve installing new or modifying existing equipment and systems, and designing/fabricating specialized equipment as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational training in a related technical field.
  • State Licensure or proven Knowledge and experience in one or more areas (Electrical, Welding, HVAC, plumbing, etc.)
  • Two plus years experience in industrial maintenance field with demonstrated preventative maintenance.
  • Experience in materials handling systems.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, basic math skills, a must.
  • Familiarity with OSHA/NFPA/NEC standards to include the use and understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Must maintain safe work practices and housekeeping standards.
  • Ability to grasp, bend, lift, or otherwise move items weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Work in various shifts to meet business needs as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in Outlook, CMMS, IRIS, ICW a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs and maintains machinery, mechanical and/or electrical equipment to include motors, pumps, conveyers, hydraulics, electro-mechanical control systems, power equipment, safety devices, or other specialized equipment.
  • Examines parts and equipment to diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs or installations in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Inspects completed repairs or installations.
  • Maintains and repairs a variety of building operation systems to include plumbing, electrical, heating, refrigeration, sprinklers, etc.
  • Recommends and implements improvements to equipment, operations and procedures.
  • Prepares requisitions for new parts and equipment.
  • May contact vendors for service or parts.
  • Performs special projects or duties as assigned.
  • May assist or guide other maintenance associates in preventative maintenance of equipment and/or safety procedures.
  • Performs maintenance service in plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, and minor construction.
  • Certified on all Power Equipment Ex: forklift, boom lifts, scissor lifts etc.
  • Problem solver and trouble shooting skills.
  • Proficient in Outlook, CMMS, IRIS, ICW a plus.
