About The Position

This is a highly responsible and professional position serving as the Maintenance Mechanic - OPS within the Facility Operations Department. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player who works seamlessly across all sections within the program office. Specific Duties and Responsibilities include: This position involves independent work incidents for delivery and setup, breaking down and picking up, moving, assembly, and disassembly of equipment and furniture used by a large mental health facility. This position will perform minor project work. All work shall be performed with safety and cleanliness. The safety of the people we serve is the top priority in maintaining a secure and comfortable environment for clients and staff. Complete Project/Move Work Orders. Coordinates and assists with all Facility moves that consist of two hundred buildings over approximately one thousand acres. Including set up and break down for special activities. Assembles new furniture/equipment and disassembles existing furniture/equipment for Project/Move Work orders. Work on projects as required. Projects will be minor, such as painting or carpentry work. From time to time assist other Trades persons in their work when shortage of manpower exists to ensure the most cost-effective method of operation. Initiates forms for transfer and disposal of state property. Other duties as required or directed by the supervisor

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of the skilled building trades or mechanical repair work.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures required in maintenance and repair work.
  • Skill in using tools and equipment in maintenance and repair work.
  • Ability to perform a variety of skilled trades functions.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Ability to install, maintain and repair electric motors, generators and other mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to take accurate measurements.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
