About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic IV position is responsible for performing preventative and routine corrective maintenance tasks at a correctional institution. This role ensures that assigned systems, equipment, and facilities are maintained in a safe and efficient manner. The position performs a variety of semi-skilled trades and at least two mechanical trades, or a combination of mechanical and higher-level building trades performed fully at the journey level. This position is involved in operating, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining assigned systems, equipment, and facilities. Additionally, this position supervises the work of semi-skilled, unskilled, or skilled workers, including inmates, to assist in completing job assignments.

Requirements

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two (2) years of progressive experience in the assigned trade areas; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by 40 CFR part 82, subpart F.
