About The Position

Mechanic IV at Cooper Machinery Services will rebuild equipment that keeps energy moving across the globe. This role involves complex mechanical work on legendary engines and compressors. The team is located in Deer Park.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 8+ years of experience in mechanical test and assembly/disassembly, or heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
• Skilled at reading and interpreting drawings, prints, and engineering specifications.
• Physically able to push, pull, lift, bend, and handle the demands of hands-on mechanical work.
• Comfortable working overtime, weekends, and holidays when the job calls for it.
• Solid grasp of safety regulations and good housekeeping practices.
• Confident with basic math and schematic reading.
• Holds a valid driver's license.
• A true team player who can also run independently against engineering specs, with the mechanical aptitude and attention to detail this work demands.

Nice To Haves

• 8+ years of experience in operations or service center environments.
• Strong working knowledge of natural gas engines and compressor equipment.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, position, reassemble, test, and paint moderate to highly complex compression and engine equipment.
• Use a wide range of mechanical tools and equipment to execute precise assembly, disassembly, and testing operations.
• Conduct risk assessments before operations and material movements to keep every job safe.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on mechanical equipment to keep production moving.
• Interpret drawings, prints, and engineering specifications to guide your work with precision.
• Set up and run test operations that confirm equipment meets engineering standards.
• Keep facility equipment and tooling operational, efficient, and safe for the whole team.
• Spot and report problems or hazardous conditions before they become bigger issues.
• Complete required training and documentation accurately and on time.
• Bring strong communication and teamwork to every shift — collaboration is how we get it right.
