This position involves knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. You will use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices. You will perform routine preventive maintenance or repair to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate. You will inspect, operate, or test machinery, equipment, or systems to diagnose machine malfunctions. You will diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary. You will assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment. You will inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists. You will also record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional shifts and hours.
  • Maintenance experience within a manufacturing/ distribution environment.
  • General knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Ability to use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
  • Ability to inspect, operate, or test machinery, equipment, or systems to diagnose machine malfunctions.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
  • Ability to assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
  • Ability to inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
  • Ability to record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
  • Ability to promote a safe and productive workplace through your own actions, including the proper use of PPE, safe operation of powered equipment and safe lifting techniques as determined by the role.
  • Ability to be an active participant in contributing to a successful safety culture in the facility.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with general maintenance/ electrical duties preferred.
  • General knowledge of conveyors systems, and ability to trouble shoot.
  • Ability to use CMMS and good computer skills for utilizing PM Software system.
