About The Position

The Technician I role reports to the Facilities Area Manager and performs basic maintenance tasks and repairs throughout the fulfillment center. This includes supporting work on conveyors, Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) equipment, and general building maintenance activities. We ask that you have a basic working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, along with familiarity with AC/DC systems and the ability to use a volt meter. In addition to handling routine maintenance needs, the Technician I supports other Technicians with more complex maintenance work to help maintain a high level of equipment reliability across the facility.

Requirements

  • 6 months+ experience working with mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Can read and comprehend technical manuals, work orders, and maintenance documentation.
  • Familiarity with blueprints and engineering specifications.
  • 6 months+ experience with mechanical and electrical systems in an operational environment.
  • Working knowledge of AC/DC systems and the ability to use a voltage meter.

Responsibilities

  • Complete planned, preventive, and unplanned maintenance on production equipment, conveyors, sorter systems, Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), and other building systems to support safe, reliable operations.
  • Troubleshoot and respond to equipment breakdowns and production-related issues, helping restore equipment quickly and working with team leaders to maximize uptime and throughput.
  • Perform daily building and facility maintenance. This maintenance includes basic repairs for plumbing, electrical, lighting, painting, HVAC, walls, dock doors, dock locks, and dock plates. Additionally, coordinate with and assist outside vendors.
  • Identify, escalate, and help resolve mechanical, electrical, plumbing, heating/cooling, and equipment issues before they become critical and disrupt fulfillment center operations.
  • Follow all required safety and compliance procedures, including lock out/tag out, PPE, safe lifting, fall protection, hazardous energy control, and immediate correction or escalation of safety hazards and spills.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation in CMMS systems, assist with equipment installations and repair projects, and support basic fabrication or custom repair work to keep operations running effectively.
