Maintenance Mechanic I

About The Position

Nesco Resource is seeking a Mechanic Technician to join a maintenance team supporting a large corrugated manufacturing operation. The role troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains corrugator equipment and supporting systems to help ensure safe, efficient production. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience with industrial equipment, and the ability to work across a range of machinery rather than specializing in a single area. Candidates with experience in paper mills, corrugated facilities, manufacturing plants, or other industrial maintenance environments are encouraged to apply. The facility operates a large corrugator line and supporting equipment, including roll stands and splicers, conveyors, banders, a shredder, a baler, fanfold equipment, hydraulic shears and slitters, and starch kitchen systems. Many machines are older and require hands-on troubleshooting, resourcefulness, and fabrication skills. New hires train on first shift alongside experienced technicians; training is typically one to two weeks for second-shift assignments and up to one month for third-shift assignments, with duration depending on experience and readiness to work independently. There are first-, second-, and third-shift options, with the current opening focused on third shift and the primary hiring need on second and third shifts. Shift assignment may vary based on business needs and staffing. All shifts include a 15-minute paid overlap for handoff. Compensation is determined by skills, experience, testing results, and an onsite assessment under the United Steelworkers union pay structure. The interview process includes one onsite interview with a facility tour and a maintenance skills assessment during or shortly after the interview; an additional interview round may occur if necessary.
