About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic I is responsible for maintaining residential apartments and public areas at Windsor Run, a continuing care retirement community in Matthews, North Carolina. The role helps ensure residents have a comfortable and safe place to live by responding to maintenance requests and completing routine and emergency repairs. Duties include maintaining HVAC equipment, performing scheduled preventive maintenance, and responding to HVAC emergency calls.

Requirements

At least 2 years of maintenance experience in a residential apartment complex, commercial building setting, or construction-related industry.
Working knowledge of residential building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, flooring, and appliances.
Working knowledge of HVAC.
Ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff.
Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Respond promptly to residents’ maintenance work orders.
Help maintain the General Services team’s visibility and reputation for problem solving and improving the resident living experience.
Perform routine and emergency repairs in residential apartments and community public areas, including electrical repairs and repairing or replacing plumbing and lighting fixtures.
Perform other maintenance work as needed.
Maintain HVAC equipment, including scheduled preventive maintenance and responding to emergency calls.
