About The Position

The Oswego County Energy Recovery Facility has an immediate need for a Maintenance Mechanic "B" to perform mechanical work on a shift involving a variety of mechanical, hydraulic and electro-mechanical installation, repair and maintenance tasks on energy recovery plant and related equipment. The incumbent works under direction and supervision of the Chief Maintenance Mechanic or Shift Supervisor.

Requirements

Associate's degree in engineering technology or a closely related field; OR Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and one (1) year of experience in the installation, repair and/or maintenance of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, high-pressure steam equipment and related controls and instrumentation, or in position performing structural, fabrication, or repair welding; OR Possession of Certificate of completion from a Union-Company Sponsored Apprentice Program requiring at least 8,000 hours of on-the-job training.
Completion of an equipment maintenance course may be substituted for up to a year of depending on length and type of training.
Eligibility for a New York State driver's license may be required.
Ability to use a respirator must be maintained throughout the course of employment.
