About The Position

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Mechanic 4 in the West Region of the State Maintenance and Support Services (SMSS) Branch, a part of the Construction and Facilities Management Office (CFMO), this position is responsible for providing skilled, journey-level functions associated with assigned work efforts for CFMO-related facilities, systems, and equipment located on Camp Murray and Joint Base Lewis McChord. Additionally, this position is responsible for leading maintenance mechanic teammates. This recruitment will be utilized to fill two Maintenance Mechanic 3 vacancies. Requirements

  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic 2; OR High School Diploma or GED, AND Completion of a recognized apprenticeship in a skilled mechanic trade, AND One year of experience as a journey-level work in building and equipment maintenance, construction, or building repair work.
  • Must successfully complete the appropriate background checks required for employment and to obtain/maintain a DoD Common Access Card (CAC) in order to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret-level security clearance.
  • Must be willing to sign releases of information and shall not have access to any investigative materials and files.
  • Valid to drive in the State of Washington.
  • Must meet requirements of the REAL ID Act.
  • Must meet access requirements / background check which can be found in the Camp Murray Access Requirements Policy (Unified Policy No. 18-01).
  • Possession of an Enhanced Driver’s License, or other REAL ID Compliant Identification.

  • Operate standard office equipment (computer, telephone, copier, scanner, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Journey-level work to accomplish completion of assigned maintenance, repair, and non-repair efforts.
  • Lead maintenance personnel in the accomplishment of assigned tasks.
  • Journey-level work to accomplish preventative maintenance efforts.
  • Assists grounds and custodial crews.
