About The Position

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Mechanic 4 for the West Region of the State Maintenance & Support Services (SMSS), a part of the Construction & Facilities Management Office (CFMO), this position is a member of the SMSS Generator & Equipment Maintenance Shop (GEMS) and is responsible to provide skilled, journey-level functions to ensure assigned generators and equipment remain in compliance and in operational status. Additionally, this position leads journey-level and sub journey-level teammates.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic 2; OR High School Diploma or GED, AND Completion of a recognized apprenticeship in a skilled mechanic trade, AND One year of experience as a journey-level work in building and equipment maintenance, construction, or building repair work.
  • Must successfully complete the appropriate background checks required for employment and to obtain/maintain a DoD Common Access Card (CAC) in order to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret-level security clearance.
  • Must be willing to sign releases of information and shall not have access to any investigative materials and files.
  • Valid to drive in the State of Washington.
  • Must meet requirements of the REAL ID Act. This is required for base access and will be required upon hire.
  • Willingness to work on a Military Controlled Access Installation.
  • Must meet access requirements / background check which can be found in the Camp Murray Access Requirements Policy (Unified Policy No. 18-01).
  • This includes possession of an Enhanced Driver’s License, or other REAL ID Compliant Identification.

Responsibilities

  • Journey-level work to accomplish regulatory compliance and preventative maintenance of CFMO assigned generators.
  • Journey-level work to accomplish repair and replacement of CFMO assigned generators.
  • Lead maintenance personnel in the accomplishment of assigned tasks.
  • Journey-level work to accomplish compliance, preventative maintenance, and repair/replacement of assigned equipment.
  • Assists grounds and custodial crews.
