About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic 3 - Midshift (Monday - Friday 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM with occasional Saturdays per business need) is a senior plant-floor maintenance role focused on equipment reliability, advanced troubleshooting, technical leadership, mentoring, shutdown execution, utility system ownership, and continuous improvement. The pay range for this role is $42.00 to $44.00, depending on experience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • 5 or more years of industrial maintenance experience
  • 3 or more years of multi-craft troubleshooting capability
  • 3 or more years of electrical troubleshooting experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical ownership and support for packaging lines, utility systems, and process systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC faults, HMI issues, servo systems, VFD systems, and other complex electrical and automation systems.
  • Support and maintain 480VAC systems, MCC buckets and drives.
  • Troubleshoot and support boilers, compressors, cooling towers, and chemical transfer systems.
  • Support packaging equipment including conveyors, bottle feeders, case erectors, case sealers, labelers, stretch wrappers, cap sorters, filling equipment, and pallet conveyor systems.
  • Assist with line startups, shutdowns, and changeovers to support production efficiency and uptime.
  • Execute preventive maintenance procedures exactly as written.
  • Perform lubrication routes, inspections, and equipment condition assessments.
  • Inspect and replace belts, chains, bearings, filters, and other wear components.
  • Perform conveyor tracking and alignment adjustments.
  • Conduct laser alignment, vibration analysis, and root-cause failure investigations.
  • Conduct machine guarding inspections and support equipment cleaning and restoration activities.
  • Improve preventive maintenance systems and support spare parts optimization initiatives.
  • Execute TIG and MIG welding as well as stainless steel fabrication activities.
  • Lead or support planned shutdown activities and maintenance projects.
  • Support capital projects and continuous improvement (CI) initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency, and operational performance.
  • Maintain compliance with GMP procedures and sanitation standards.
  • Accurately complete CMMS work orders and document parts usage, equipment observations, and maintenance activities.
  • Maintain clean and organized maintenance areas.
  • Promptly identify, communicate, and escalate equipment abnormalities, operational concerns, and safety issues.
  • Adhere to all PPE requirements and safety protocols.
  • Follow LOTO procedures, machine guarding standards, hazard communication requirements, and safe tool usage practices.
  • Identify and address slip, trip, and fall hazards within the facility.
  • Demonstrate accountability, urgency, and strong technical leadership.
  • Support a reliability-centered maintenance culture focused on proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Train and mentor operators and junior technicians.
  • Lead technical troubleshooting and problem-solving activities.
  • Serve as maintenance lead when required.
  • Maintain a collaborative mindset with a willingness to both teach and learn.
