About The Position

Andrew Peller Limited (APL) is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead their skilled trades and facilities teams at their Kelowna production facility, Canrim Packaging. This role involves managing, mentoring, and inspiring a team in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment while supporting continuous improvement across all areas of operations. Experience with union and non-union teammate management is required. Canrim Packaging, a division of APL, specializes in bottling and packaging services for a diverse portfolio of Andrew Peller branded beverages, including wine, cider, and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic products.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive experience including managing and leading teams in a production environment.
  • Experience managing unionized hourly employees is strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of developing, coaching, and inspiring employees at all levels to reach their full potential.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on change management and continuous improvement.
  • Hands-on knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and health & safety practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, including flexible hours and occasional weekend work during the Harvest period.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in a liquid processing or food manufacturing environment would be an asset.
  • Experience in a liquid processing or food manufacturing environment is ideal.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sciences, or Business Management, Red Seal Trade, or equivalent combination of experience and training is ideal.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a unionized and non-unionized maintenance team, focusing on growth, training, and engagement.
  • Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of equipment, facilities, and systems in line with regulatory standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance and operational processes, using data, KPIs, and best practices.
  • Manage departmental budgets, resources, and preventative maintenance schedules to optimize performance and cost efficiency.
  • Champion a health & safety-first culture, leading programs, inspections, and compliance initiatives to keep everyone safe.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects that enhance production, efficiency, and overall operational excellence.
