About The Position

The Maintenance Manager leads the Woodstock plant maintenance, reliability, utilities and plant engineering agenda to support safe, compliant, reliable and cost-effective operations. This leader owns the site Maintenance, Reliability & Engineering pillar within the Kraft Heinz Management System, builds technical capability, strengthens equipment ownership, and partners across plant functions to reduce losses and improve performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability, Operations or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience.
  • Progressive leadership experience in maintenance or reliability within a high-speed manufacturing environment. Food or beverage manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading maintenance planning and scheduling, preventive or predictive maintenance, CMMS/SAP work management, root-cause analysis, equipment reliability and maintenance cost control.
  • Working knowledge of industrial mechanical, electrical, controls/automation, utilities and facility systems.
  • Experience leading people, contractors, budgets and cross-functional improvement work in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to analyze operational and financial data, translate losses into action plans, communicate across organizational levels and sustain execution routines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ammonia refrigeration and OSHA Process Safety Management or EPA Risk Management Program requirements.
  • Experience with KHMS, TPM, WCM or another integrated manufacturing excellence system.
  • CMRP, CRL, PMP, Lean/Six Sigma, refrigeration/PSM or a related technical certification.
  • Experience in a unionized facility and with food-safety systems such as FSSC 22000, HACCP and GMPs.
  • Experience with condition monitoring, asset criticality, reliability-centered maintenance, storeroom optimization or capital project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead maintenance work in accordance with company EHS requirements, safe work practices and applicable regulatory standards, including LOTO, electrical safety, machine safety, hot work, confined space, work at height and contractor safety.
  • Provide leadership and governance for ammonia refrigeration and Process Safety Management activities, including mechanical integrity, Management of Change, PHA and audit action closure, procedures, training and emergency preparedness.
  • Ensure maintenance activities protect food safety and product quality through hygienic maintenance, foreign-material prevention, approved lubricants, sanitary design, post-maintenance release and coordination with Food Safety & Quality and Sanitation.
  • Own deployment and maturity of the KHMS Maintenance, Reliability & Engineering pillar, including daily performance routines, monthly pillar reviews, 90-day plans and escalation of barriers.
  • Maintain asset hierarchy, functional locations, asset master data and criticality rankings in the CMMS, and develop maintenance strategies based on asset criticality.
  • Create and govern a rolling 52-week maintenance plan and a two-week detailed schedule aligned with production windows, labor, skills, parts, tools, permits and contractor resources.
  • Improve preventive and proactive maintenance effectiveness and reduce reactive work using failure analysis, Pareto reviews, root-cause problem solving, troubleshooting guides and condition monitoring where justified.
  • Partner with Production and Sanitation on planned downtime, handoffs, start-up readiness and rapid response while maintaining long-term reliability discipline.
  • Support reliable operation and maintenance of utilities and facilities, including ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, compressed air, electrical distribution, water and wastewater, as assigned.
  • Manage maintenance projects through prioritization, design review, procurement, installation, commissioning, documentation, training and handoff to operations.
  • Support OT infrastructure and security controls in partnership with site and enterprise OT/IT resources.
  • Build and manage the annual maintenance budget and monthly forecast, review spending with Finance and take corrective action on variances.
  • Lead spare-parts and storeroom governance, including critical spares, min/max levels, obsolescence, cycle counts, kitting, repairable spares and stock-out reduction.
  • Select and manage contractors and OEMs, including scope, safety expectations, deliverables, cost controls, documentation and performance reviews.
  • Lead, coach and develop maintenance leaders, planners, technicians, utilities personnel and apprentices while building skills, accountability, succession and engagement in a unionized manufacturing environment.
