About The Position

Aramark Facilities Management is building a pipeline of experienced Maintenance Managers interested in future higher education facilities leadership opportunities across the East Coast. This pipeline requisition is designed for facilities professionals with strong technical maintenance leadership experience in higher education environments. We are seeking individuals with experience leading skilled trades operations including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and preventive maintenance programs across complex campus facilities. This is an opportunity to connect early with Aramark Facilities leadership as we continue growing our higher education portfolio and preparing for future openings throughout the next year. The Maintenance Manager will oversee campus maintenance operations within a higher education environment, ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient performance of building systems and infrastructure. This leader will manage skilled trades teams responsible for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general maintenance operations while driving preventive maintenance execution, operational reliability, safety compliance, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, leadership experience, and an understanding of the unique operational demands within colleges and universities.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of maintenance or facilities management leadership experience
  • Experience within higher education facilities operations
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems
  • Experience leading skilled trades or maintenance teams
  • Experience managing preventive maintenance programs and CMMS/work order systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot operational and building systems issues
  • Strong communication and leadership skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within integrated facilities management (IFM) environments
  • Experience supporting large or multi-building campuses
  • Technical certifications or licenses related to HVAC, electrical, or building systems
  • Experience with building automation systems (BAS)
  • Union labor management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day maintenance operations across campus facilities
  • Oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general maintenance teams
  • Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs
  • Support building automation systems, asset management, and infrastructure reliability
  • Partner with university and client leadership to prioritize operational needs
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and maintenance best practices
  • Manage work order systems, maintenance scheduling, and operational reporting
  • Support emergency response and critical systems troubleshooting
  • Drive operational improvements focused on uptime, efficiency, and service quality
  • Develop and mentor maintenance supervisors, technicians, and skilled trades employees
  • Assist with capital planning, deferred maintenance initiatives, and contractor oversight
