Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of trade school or “on the job” related experience
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • The ability to read, comprehend and transmit complicated detailed instructions in writing and orally.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the Maintenance Department and Central Plant according to SSC guidelines and direction from Unit Director.
  • Maintain an effective and efficient process of completion of customer work orders in the Maintenance Connection System.
  • Ensuring staff is productive in keeping work orders to a manageable number, utilizing the Maintenance Connection dashboard.
  • Coordinates with the plant operators, custodial team, and life safety personnel to complete tasks that require collaboration to complete.
  • Provide weekly report to the Unit Director that encompasses completed tasks/project status for the week and what future tasks/projects are planned for the upcoming week.
  • Manages the budget for the working labor that it assigned to the Maintenance cost center as well as budgeting for supplies and subcontractors as needed.
  • Respond to customer issues in a timely amount of time when contacted regarding any item within the scope of the maintenance department.
  • Ensure quality work by the central plant team and provide correction and feedback to the associates performing the work.
  • Communicate issues that may arise and require campus personnel to become involved.
  • Practice and communicate health and safety requirements.
  • People management that includes hiring and training new associates, scheduling of associates, managing the disciplinary process as needed and other related tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.
