About The Position

The Maintenance Machinist-Fabricator fabricates, repairs, and maintains machinery and equipment to support operational efficiency and minimize downtime. The role calls for technical skills in machining, welding, and fabrication, as well as the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues. The employee works in various locations throughout the facility and helps maintain Bayer Built and provide assistance where needed.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Two years of related work experience.
Ability to work well with others.
Good balance and reading skills.
Ability to use clamps and squares properly and read a measuring tape.
Ability to read mechanical prints.
Knowledge of using a mill, lathe, and Plasma CNC table.

Responsibilities

Measure and cut materials using industry-standard tools and equipment, including powered saws, a mill, a lathe, a Plasma CNC, a press, and a shear.
Use precision measuring tools.
Pre-drill or tap holes as needed.
Read blueprints and mechanical prints.
Clamp or set up material to maintain critical dimensions and ensure it is square.
Weld materials using common welding tools and procedures to produce strong, clean welds.
Weld or repair machines, carts, and other equipment needed in the shop or on the production line.
Repair or fabricate machinery for the production facility.
Weld parts in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
Repair equipment, buildings, and track systems.
Maintain proper housekeeping and repair equipment when needed.
Assist other departments when needed.
