Position Description Title: Maintenance Mach Repair Tech 1 Department: Maintenance Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor Status: Non-Exempt Hourly Position Purpose: Responsible for installation, troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and rebuild of all plant pump systems, air and hydraulic systems, and machines. Involved with modifying and improving existing equipment. Train and pass along knowledge to other employees. Assist production with maintaining a high level of equipment up time. Work extended schedules during shutdown periods.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Machine Repair, Millwright, Machine Builder or related skilled trade and/or a minimum of two years of relevant work experience in one of the previously referenced trades
  • Demonstrated working knowledge in the following areas: Hydraulics, pneumatics, and various hand tools.
  • General Maintenance knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Actively Participate in the Carbondale Plant Safety Program
  • Communicate shift activities with other maintenance personnel and maintenance supervisors.
  • Break down work orders to determine feasibility and what resources are needed to complete.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment performance is at maximum.
  • Interact with equipment suppliers.
  • Develop repair procedures and monitor as needed.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions for equipment improvements.
  • Actively participate in department meetings.
  • Make some decisions based only on limited amount of information available at a given time.
  • Perform shut down activities.
  • Communicate equipment and process changes with Production.
  • Communicate equipment upgrades with Engineering.
  • Investigate problems with equipment, and, or process.
