Liberty Tire Recycling is seeking a Maintenance Lead to support equipment reliability and safe production during 2nd shift. This role performs hands‑on maintenance while providing leadership and support to production teams. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical skills, welding and fabrication experience, and a commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot industrial equipment
  • Experience with electrical and mechanical repairs in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lead, influence, and communicate effectively with others
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, changing production environment
  • Strong attention to safety and detail
  • Physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs and use hand and power tools regularly
  • Minimum 1 year of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic standard tool set required

Nice To Haves

  • Welding and fabrication experience preferred
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred but not required
  • Prior lead or senior technician experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on industrial manufacturing equipment including conveyors, grinders, shredders, and screeners
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
  • Complete welding and metal fabrication using torches, welders, and power tools
  • Inspect equipment, document conditions, and communicate issues clearly
  • Complete work orders, PM checklists, and record parts usage accurately
  • Support production teams by responding to maintenance issues and minimizing downtime
  • Provide leadership and guidance to equipment operators as needed
  • Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies
  • Conduct safety inspections on machine guarding, fire prevention equipment, and related systems
  • Maintain shop cleanliness, organization, and tool inventory
  • Assist with coordinating maintenance priorities to meet production needs
  • Support training, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Perform other duties as assigned
