The Maintenance Lead will support Total Process Reliability through Total Productive Maint., General Maint., & Project Management. This role operates under little supervision and performs a variety of highly complex Maintenance projects. The Lead will work as a team with other Maintenance Technicians and Production Supervisors, and assist in all functions of the maintenance area as needed. This position involves leading and coordinating the work of other Maintenance Technicians to keep the facility running efficiently and safely, serving as a resource for complex technical questions, and providing guidance, training, and mentorship to less experienced Maintenance Technicians. The Lead will also provide feedback to the manager for performance reviews or areas of concern and is responsible for project leadership and direction of implementation of Maintenance projects and work orders. They will develop and manage projects from inception through completion, requesting necessary items for implementation. General sanitation of the maintenance department, including organizing supplies, tools, and keeping the area neat, clean, and safe, is also a responsibility. The role includes laying out, assembling, installing, dismantling, maintaining, and repairing various processing and supporting equipment. Recording daily times on equipment, parts dispensed, and work orders using maintenance software is required, along with executing and evaluating current job plans and developing future job plans. The Maintenance Lead will maintain and repair electrical apparatus, pipe systems, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, and build, fabricate, and weld special mechanical parts. Calibration of sensors and programming of AC drives, chart recorders, pressure sensors, and flow meters are also key duties. Maintenance and tests on utility equipment, performing PSM daily rounds, and conferring with outside vendors are expected. The Lead will mentor the operation of utilities, separator maintenance, and other critical equipment areas, and serve as backup for wastewater treatment responsibilities. Preventative maintenance duties include repairing electrical equipment and the physical structure, and writing and monitoring guides on equipment using Microsoft programs. Troubleshooting, analyzing root causes of problems, diagnosing breakdowns, and troubleshooting PLC programs and hardware are essential. The role also involves monitoring operations and making suggestions to reduce costs, providing support on facility and process systems, and understanding and following procedures for DNR/WDA/USDA/FDA/IMS/OSHA.
