About The Position

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, we are looking for a Maintenance Lead Technician to join our team on the night shift, 2x2x3 schedule 6am - 6:30pm. You will oversee the work of a small, tight-knit team, assign tasks, set priorities, and ensure the safe and timely completion of duties. You will also administer, configure, and support the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). This role offers a unique opportunity to build visibility, take ownership, and contribute to the efficiency of our operations in a collaborative night shift environment. This is a day shift role, 2 on x 2 off x 2 on Rotating Continental Schedule 6am - 6:30pm.

Requirements

  • Worked in industrial maintenance in a manufacturing, plant, or warehouse environment.
  • Extensive experience using mechanical tools for welding, grinding, cutting, electrical circuit writing, and PLC calibrating.
  • Understand measurements for temperature and weight and can perform basic addition and subtraction calculations using whole numbers and fractions.
  • Naturally curious and have strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Highly organized and excel at job task planning.
  • Continuous learning mindset, always seeking opportunities to increase your knowledge and gain more information.
  • Experience leading or supervising a team and acting as a strong presence on the plant floor.
  • Can assign tasks, demonstrate work, and ensure deliverables and deadlines are met.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities: Work with the Maintenance Manager to identify and communicate priorities and direct the work of maintenance personnel. Assist with planning, scheduling, assigning and reviewing work. Supervise and direct service contractors in the plant. Be responsible for overseeing down-day activities and plant lockdown for the weekend.
  • Support the team: Provide guidance and instructions to other mechanics in their daily activities, ensuring all work is in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and safety procedures. Provide breaks or vacation relief for other mechanics as necessary. Lead special projects as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Problem-solving: Troubleshoot and determine root causes, analyze and diagnose equipment malfunctions or issues utilizing a computer or PLC program, collaborate with other mechanics when called, provide expertise to diagnose problems and determine corrective action.
  • Perform administrative tasks: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports documenting the activities and work performed by the maintenance department, including all equipment repairs from breakdowns, work orders, or PMs. Assist in maintaining the maintenance office and departmental records.
