Homemakers is looking for a Maintenance Lead to help launch and support our new Tiffin location. In this role, you'll combine hands-on maintenance expertise with leadership responsibilities, guiding a team of Maintenance Specialists while helping keep our facility safe, efficient, and operating at its best. You'll tackle everything from electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical repairs to training team members, coordinating daily priorities, and partnering with vendors. Requirements

  • Prior maintenance experience required
  • Must be highly motivated, able to lead a team, and work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Strong working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, welding, construction, and air conditioning equipment.
  • Must be able to work at varying heights.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to work extra hours as business needs require.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to coordinate team schedules and priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and hold team members accountable.

Nice To Haves

  • 1–2 years in a lead, supervisory, or trainer capacity strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, schedule, and assign daily and weekly work to Maintenance Specialists, ensuring proper coverage and prioritization of tasks across the facility.
  • Train, mentor, and onboard maintenance team members on equipment operation, safety protocols, and facility procedures.
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for maintenance issues, coordinating with outside vendors and contractors as needed.
  • Inspect completed work performed by the team to confirm adherence to safety standards, company procedures, and quality expectations.
  • Keep the Facilities Manager informed of team performance, outstanding issues, and resource needs.
  • Oversee maintenance parts and supplies inventory, placing orders as needed and helping control maintenance costs.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance and repair work alongside the team, modeling safe work habits and strong craftsmanship.
  • Perform and oversee emergency, scheduled, and preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facility systems across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and carpentry areas.
  • Diagnose issues, repair or replace parts, read manuals/work orders, and operate a wide range of tools and testing equipment safely.
  • Maintain facility infrastructure including lighting, electrical outlets, HVAC components, forklifts, doors, walls, and general building systems.
  • Maintain maintenance supplies inventory, keep logs, follow safety/operational procedures, and maintain clean, orderly work areas.
  • Support additional tasks such as building display props, assisting with deliveries, and providing feedback to management on safety, efficiency, and productivity.
