Gas Utility Technician - Tiffin, Ohio
About The Position
Utility Pipeline Ltd. (UPL) is a natural gas distribution management company that operates and maintains natural gas service for several Utilities and Cooperatives throughout Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. UPL offers a full range of services in the natural gas industry including engineering, installing, maintaining, and operating natural gas distribution systems, all upheld to the highest standards in the industry. This position operates in Northwest Ohio within Sandusky, Seneca, Huron, Richland, Wyandot, Morrow, Marion, and Hancock counties. The technician will preferably live in the Tiffin area for central location and emergency response. Training will begin in Findlay, OH, but the individual will primarily work in the specified counties once trained. Experience in the natural gas distribution field is a plus. This is a full-time position with benefits.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of related experience preferred but not required
- Valid and clean driver’s license
- Willing and able to pass a drug and alcohol test (pre-employment and random)
- Willing to complete required online training and pipeline safety training programs
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the natural gas distribution field
- Class A CDL
Responsibilities
- Respond to various work orders
- Line locating
- Leak surveys, inspections, and compliance-related tasks
- Annual maintenance of pipelines and facilities
- Heavy equipment operation
- Install and remove meters
- Meter reading and install ERTs
- Install pipelines, taps, and customer service lines
- Oversee and inspect sub-contractors on assigned projects
- Maintain company vehicle and equipment
- Complete necessary paperwork for daily tasks
- On-call rotation/emergency call outs
