About The Position

The Maintenance Irrigator operates, maintains, and repairs the golf course irrigation system to support optimal turf health and water efficiency. The role manages irrigation schedules, troubleshoots system issues, and maintains pumps, valves, and related infrastructure. Working under limited supervision, the Maintenance Irrigator partners with the Superintendent and leadership team to address irrigation needs and support course operations.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in irrigation systems, turf management, landscaping, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience operating and maintaining irrigation systems; golf course or landscape experience preferred in the posting's qualifications.
Knowledge of irrigation components, electrical systems, and water management principles.
Ability to read irrigation plans, manuals, and technical specifications.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations.

Bilingual Spanish skills may be beneficial in some locations.

Responsibilities

Operate, monitor, and adjust irrigation systems to maintain turf and landscape conditions.
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation components, including pipes, valves, sprinkler heads, controllers, and pumps.
Program and manage irrigation schedules based on weather, soil moisture, and course needs.
Perform preventive maintenance on irrigation systems and related equipment.
Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues within irrigation control systems.
Assist with installation and upgrades of irrigation infrastructure.
Maintain pump stations, filtration systems, and water distribution equipment.
Audit systems to identify leaks, inefficiencies, or coverage issues.
Maintain records of repairs, water usage, and system performance.
Coordinate with the maintenance team to support course operations and special events.
Ensure compliance with water-use regulations and environmental guidelines.
Maintain inventory of irrigation parts and supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
Train and support team members on proper irrigation practices and equipment use.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Support additional maintenance functions as needed, including equipment or facility support.
Implement and support company initiatives and safety programs.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
