About The Position

The Maintenance Helper performs scheduled and unscheduled daily maintenance tasks in a commercial laundry plant. The role monitors assigned equipment during production to help ensure efficient operation, performs preventive maintenance and repairs as issues arise, and seeks technical assistance from Engineering when needed. The position is full-time, located at 9905 S 13th Street, Oak Creek, WI 53154, and is scheduled for the first shift, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM. Rotating weekends may be required. Pay is $18.00–$20.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

• Be team-oriented and able to work independently or with a team.
• Be self-motivated, independent, prompt, and able to handle tasks as they arise.
• Have solid communication skills.
• Be able to operate tools and equipment safely.
• Understand safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, confined-space entry, and working on hot equipment.
• Have a good working knowledge of machinery.
• Be able to help repair and maintain mechanical drive systems, conveyor systems, and overhead rail systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Complete maintenance and repairs promptly and to a high standard, including work on overhead rail and conveyor systems.
• Monitor assigned equipment during production and identify and correct problems such as jams, defective or missing belts, and missing ironer tape.
• Assist technical and mechanical personnel, including outside vendors, as needed.
• Maintain the maintenance log by recording incomplete tasks and new problems.
• Notify Production Supervisors about equipment status when it may affect production or cause downtime, and when equipment is back online.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area for themselves and nearby associates.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
