About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The role involves monitoring equipment during production, performing necessary repairs or adjustments, documenting corrections, and conducting preventive maintenance. Rebuilding and assisting with the installation of new equipment are also key aspects, along with general maintenance throughout the facility. The job requires manual tasks such as greasing, oil changes, and cleaning plant equipment, as well as monitoring equipment and computer boards. Troubleshooting mechanical problems using schematics and blueprints is essential. The role may require working other shifts when necessary and close collaboration with other maintenance personnel. Precision and attention to detail are needed for working with fragile devices. All other duties as requested by the supervisor will also be part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

At least 3 months of maintenance experience.
Enrollment in a maintenance / mechanical program can be considered in lieu of experience.
Good hand-eye coordination.
Capable of moving equipment, machinery, etc., in excess of 40 pounds when needed.
Ability to work on and inspect equipment, which may involve bending, turning, stooping, twisting, and climbing.
Ability to move freely throughout the plant over and around equipment, people and other obstacles.
Ability to tolerate climates ranging from very cold to very hot and from very wet to very dry.
Ability to communicate and get along well with others.
Ability to climb ladders.
Ability to reach, lift and work overhead.
Ability to walk, stand or sit for the duration of the shift.
Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Must have a minimum waiting period of 180 days for rehire.
Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Tyson Foods for rehire.

Responsibilities

Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets.

Performing preventive maintenance on weekends.
Rebuilding equipment as required.
Assisting with the installation of new equipment.
Assisting with maintenance throughout the entire facility as required.
Manually greasing, changing oil, and cleaning various plant equipment.
Monitoring equipment and computer boards.
Troubleshooting mechanical problems using detailed schematics and blueprints.
Working other shifts when necessary.
Understanding and agreeing to follow Safety Rules (e.g., Lockout/Tagout).
Complying with OSHA standards.
Working closely with other maintenance personnel to receive and pass along information.
Working with other devices that are very fragile and require precise attention.
Performing all other duties as requested by the supervisor.
Completing mandatory online training.
