About The Position

This position will perform tasks involving welding, cutting, minor electrical repair, removing and replacement of motor shafts, couplings, pumps, augers, water and steam pipes, lines and systems in an industrial environment while adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The role requires skills in welding, hydraulics, power transmissions, pneumatics, fabrication, pipe fitting, rigging, basic electrical, mechanical layout, and plumbing. Other duties include equipment removal and installation, structural fabrication, and pipe fitting. The job involves operating various electrical and pneumatic power tools, cranes, and lifts. A suitable knowledge of rendering equipment, including conveyors, pumps, cookers, hydrolyzers, presses, power transmission components, steam traps, ramps, catwalks, and piping, is necessary for removal, installation, and setup. The position also requires the ability to weld, use cutting tools, perform basic electrical work, and operate heavy industrial equipment.

Requirements

  • 1 plus years of accumulative Industrial Maintenance or Millwright skills required.
  • Must be willing to work A, B, C or D shift.
  • Must be able and willing to work weekends, and any/all other hours as needed to complete the project.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to provide proof of authorization to work legally in the United States.
  • Must pass a urinalysis screening which is part of the post-offer health assessment.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks involving welding, cutting, minor electrical repair, removing and replacement of motor shafts, couplings, pumps, augers, water and steam pipes, lines and systems in an industrial environment.
  • Operate various electrical and pneumatic power tools and equipment, including cranes and lifts.
  • Remove, install, and set up rendering equipment, including conveyors, pumps, cookers, hydrolyzers, presses, power transmission components, steam traps, ramps, catwalks, and piping.
  • Weld and use cutting tools such as cutting torch, plasma cutter, grinders, etc.
  • Perform basic electrical work and use basic electrical tools including a digital multi-meter, wire/unwire 3 phase motors, and basic single-phase terminations.
  • Operate heavy industrial equipment such as crane, boom lift, scissor lift, telehandler, forklift etc.
  • Fabricate catwalks, handrails, transitions, equipment supports etc.
  • Perform rigging tasks.
  • Climb ladders and stairs and stand for long periods of time.
  • Withstand heat and cold and work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Lift more than 60 lbs.
  • Read and understand policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Document information.
  • Communicate with others written and verbally.
  • Exhibit a cooperative attitude.
  • Travel to complete jobs at other facilities.
  • Work more than 12 hours if needed.
