General maintenance technicians are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient production. Must be able to complete computerized training programs using the Tyson SAP software. General maintenance candidates will be expected to master skills in the area of equipment installation, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing the following: hydraulic systems, plumbing systems, air systems, and electrical devices, reading P&IDs, some operation of powered industrial lifting equipment, and any other equipment or systems as needed, and interface with operation personnel. Must be able to use math as needed to complete work-related computations for machinery speeds and ratios, fluid capacities, critical dimensions, etc. Must be willing to bend, twist, reach, and move around the department and have the ability to work on the floor and on or under industrial equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. if required. To be qualified for maintenance, candidates must be willing and able to complete all required skilled trades training necessary for the required time period.
