Maintenance Generalist III
About The Position
Oversees farm maintenance personnel. Participate in the maintenance of rolling stock including tractors, pickup trucks, trailers, cars including on-site repair and preventative maintenance. Driving will be required. Support the needs of the Agronomy farm through tasks such as tillage operations, planting, pesticide applications, harvesting, etc. Maintain specialized research and farm equipment (planters, harvesters, etc.) as well as research facilities (like the forage dryer, etc.) including on-site repair and preventative maintenance. Provide leadership in maintaining and repairing all NFREC-Marianna pivots and wells used for research and extension. Work with the Beef Unit Farm Manager and the Agronomy Farm Manager to ensure that they are working and well maintained for minimum down-time. Provide oversight for maintenance done on the main road systems and gravel parking areas around the Beef and Agronomy farms including grading, repair, and upgrading. Build or fabricate apparatuses for research purposes.
Requirements
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- At least four (4) years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
- Criminal Background Check Required
- Florida Class E operator (driver) license

- Must be able to complete projects in a timely manner and be committed to customer service.
