About The Position

Graceworks Lutheran Services is a not-for-profit organization serving over 2000 older adults and adults with disabilities. We are a leader in offering services and settings that inspire and support a sense of home when people experience challenging and changing circumstances related to aging and living with disabilities. At Bethany Village, we pride ourselves on providing top-of-the-line care to all residents. Our 100-acre property is centrally located in the city of Centerville, OH and features well-appointed living options, situated on our beautifully landscaped grounds. This Full Time Day Shift position reports to and receives written and verbal assignments from the Department Director or Supervisor. The Maintenance Generalist performs a variety of general maintenance work on equipment and systems and provides support to assist other maintenance personnel in plumbing repairs, electrical repairs, carpentry repairs, and painting within the department.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Should have two years prior experience in related general maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with preventative and routine maintenance of resident rooms and furniture.
  • Orders paint and other supplies as needed.
  • Performs various departmental safety audits as assigned.
  • Keeps workshop and store rooms in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Moves furniture and equipment and helps with set-up for special events.
  • Works directly with residents on safety related issues.
  • Must leave all work areas in a clean condition.
  • Must operate and maintain all tools needed to perform assignments in a safe manner.
  • Must work in an agreeable manner with co-workers, other departments, volunteers, and residents.
  • Maintain professional growth and development through education programs, seminars, workshops, etc.
  • Research techniques, materials, equipment, and make recommendations to Supervisor or Department Director.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of the organization and all federal and state laws regarding the privacy of protected health information.
